Attractions in the Peak District and Manifold Valley Area
This area offers fantastic landscapes for walking and sightseeing, with riverside walks along the River Dove and the River Manifold and the unique coral reef limestone 'mountains', Chrome and Parkhouse are nearby, equally impressive and attractive in both Summer and Winter.
Trail walks reveal the history of the landscapeThe area is well served by walking and cycling trails (cycle hire at Parsley Hay) which were once working railways. There are four public trails in the area: The Manifold & Tissington Trail in the immediate vicinity, The Monsal Trail passing through Bakewell, and Cromford & High Peak (pictured below in its former glory), plus the still operational Churnet Valley Railway, a preserved steam line at Cheddleton.
